John Deere Foundry Tour in October
I3HSA members, and students from the Agricultural Safety and Health program, and Occupational Medicine Residency program toured a John Deere foundry in Cedar Falls, IA. IH and Safety professionals gave us an insight into the hazards present in a foundry and successful controls that have been implemented.
Laser Safety Audit
OEH students visit laboratory on campus and participate in a laser safety audit in Spring 2019.
Ionizing Radiation Assessment
Also in Spring 2019, graduate students searched campus buildings for ionizing radiation sources and evaluate their intensities.
Ebola PPE Training
OEH students learn the recommended procedure for donning and doffing PPE in Spring 2019. This activity simulated what a hospital would need to do to protect healthcare workers.
2019 AIHce in Minneapolis MN
During May 20-22, IH students and faculty traveled to Minneapolis for the annual AIHce. Six of our students presented posters on their research, with three having won awards.
