John Deere Site Tour
On September 27th, I3HSA students visited the John Deere Tractor Cab Assembly Operations (TCAO) facility in Waterloo, IA. Students were able to take an inside look at some of the unique processes involved in the production of tractors, and afterwards had an informative Q&A session with one of the site's industrial hygienists.

2019 Visit with Mike Harris

On October 11, 2019, Mike Harris, PhD, CIH came to Coralville, Iowa as part of a joint collaboration between the Iowa-Illinois and Nebraska-Western Iowa local AIHA sections to present a seminar on Health Aspects of Welding. The day before the seminar, students in the program had the opportunity to have an informal sit-down with him to network and discuss his experience in the industrial hygiene profession thus far.

Spring 2020 Axe Throwing
In the middle of their Occupational Safety semester, the I3HSA students go to Hatchet Jack's to test their skills in medieval axe throwing and Hammerchlagen, a German rooted game testing your aim at being the first to hammer a nail into a stump. This experience provided a great opportunity to apply the safety measures we've learned about in the classroom.

This was the last I3HSA event that was live this semester before the pandemic shut down the university. After an extended Spring Break, students and faculty finished their semester on Zoom.
